Dr. Joseph Quiqq
Joseph Quigg, BPE, MD, CCFP(EM), FCFP, Dip. Sport Med.
Dr. Joseph Quigg graduated from McMaster University in 1987 with a Bachelors of Physical Education (BPE) and from the University of Western Ontario in 1991 with a Medical Degree (MD). He went on to qualify for the Certificate of the College of Family Physicians with Special Competence in Emergency Medicine (CCFP(EM)) and has been a longtime member of the Canadian Academy of Sports & Exercise Medicine (CASEM). Dr. Quigg went on to earn the CASEM Diploma of Sport Medicine (Dip. Sport Med.). In 2013 Dr. Quigg was awarded the Fellowship in the College of Family Physicians (FCFP). The Fellowship designation is awarded by The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) to physicians who distinguish themselves through outstanding contributions to their communities, their colleagues and the discipline of family medicine.
Dr. Quigg has practiced Emergency and Sport Medicine in Canada and the United States for 25 years. He is the former Chairman of the Emergency Department at Samaritan Medical Centre in Watertown, NY, and currently has a focused practice in interventional chronic pain and sport medicine. Dr. Quigg utilizes fluoroscopy (x-ray) and ultra sound to perform image guided interventions for chronic spine, joint, ligament, tendon and muscle pain. Dr. Quigg is excited to add stem cell therapy to help regenerate arthritic joints and soft tissue injuries. Stem cell therapy is relatively new in Canada and KOPI is the only clinic in the area offering this treatment.
In his spare time, Dr. Quigg provides sport event medical coverage at the national and international level as the Canadian National Team Physician for Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada. He also enjoys spending time with his wife Maxine and two children Connor and Kennedy boating, water skiing, hiking, and downhill skiing.
