Can physiotherapy help me?
Physiotherapists manage and prevent many physical problems caused by illness, disability and disease, sport and work related injuries, aging, and long periods of inactivity. Our therapists are skilled in the assessment and hands-on management of a broad range of conditions that affect the musculoskeletal, circulatory, respiratory, and nervous systems.
How does physiotherapy work?
Physiotherapists assess and analyze the effect of illness, disability, injury, and inactivity and develop specific treatment plans based on their assessment and the individual client’s goals. Our therapists are trained in advanced manual therapy, acupuncture, and active release techniques. They have extensive experience in treating everything from sports and orthopaedic injuries to people suffering from chronic pain conditions.
Do I need a referral from a doctor?
No. Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals meaning you can go directly to a physiotherapist. You do not require a doctor’s referral, but some insurance companies may request a doctor’s referral before they will reimburse the cost.
Physiotherapists assess and analyze the effect of illness, disability, injury, and inactivity, then they develop specific treatment plans based on their assessment and the individual client's goals.
Some people take advantage of more than one type of therapy available from our physiotherapists. A few more common requests are:
- Acupuncture and Dry needling
- Active release techniques
- Advanced manual therapy
- Vestibular rehabilitation
- Pelvic floor therapy
